OUR CORE SKILLS
Here at Phoenix Martial arts academy, our core skills and values are at the heart of what we do.
We believe in helping people grow and develop in martial arts and beyond, by giving people the tools to overcome challenges and hardships in their lives.
We do so by creating a supportive and non judgemental community and by being passionate about what we do and making martial arts fun, whilst upholding high standards for ourselves and our students.
Below are some of the key skills we promote in our Fledglings program.

Confidence
Confidence is by far one of the most important attributes your child can have. We see how confidence helps children to persevere, and by supporting your child in overcoming
challenge and adversity, we can help them to succeed in martial arts and in life.

Statistically 1 in every 4 children is bullied in school, and we want to provide the tools to help your child be bullyproof, stand strong in the face of peer pressure and elect to make better choices in life.

By giving your child the gift of confidence, you can see them overcome challenges, persevere and succeed in not only martial arts, but all aspects of their lives.

Communication skills
Self defence & conflict resolution
Does your child know how to defend themselves if something were to happen?
Our classes incorporate practical self defence, conflict avoidance and emphasise the importance of advocating for ones selfby making problems known and using support networks. By learning practical competitive skills in the sport, we encourage our students to think fast under pressure, and stay calm in the face of both adversity and conflict.
Managing Emotions
Martial Arts serves as a structured place for children to learn to manage their emotions. Our classes not only provide a structured environment, but also a safe place for children to have a constructive and fun outlet for frustrations and emotions away from home and school environments.
